Housing and Residence Life

Get the Full CoStudent Playing Ping Pongllege Experience

There is so much more to college than just what you learn in class. When you live on campus, you immerse yourself in the full college experience that continues 24 hours a day. From learning how to live with a roommate to participating in fun activities like floor pizza parties, corn hole tournaments, dances, movie marathons, athletic events, Halloween door decorating contests, and more, there’s always something entertaining or educational going on among our resident student community. Living just a step away from classes, athletic practice, activities, and support services helps you to balance the demands of college and increases your chance to be successful.  Residence life is the perfect complement to the rich St. Catharine College academic experience and an opportunity to make friendships that will last a lifetime.

Residence Life Mission

St. Catharine College offers on campus living opportunities that will help you develop not only as a student, but as a whole person.  You will make new friendships, learn to live in a community setting, and grow in maturity and responsibility.

Housing includes several options, each with its own unique benefits:

Bertrand Hall  is a traditional residence hall in a vintage 1930s style that captures St. Catharine College’s charming, historic character. Students enjoy individual private rooms with cable and Internet access and share a communal bath. Air conditioning and heating are individually regulated in each room.  Limited availability of rooms used primarily for overflow housing or special circumstances.

Althaire Hall and Dominic Hall  immediately adjoin the Student Center and Dining Center. These halls, built in 2000-2001, feature spacious rooms in a suite style arrangement where four students share a bathroom. Heating and air conditioning are regulated by individual suite. Students have Internet and cable access.

 • Siena Hall   – Similar to Althaire and Dominic Halls, Siena features spacious rooms in a suite arrangement with four students sharing a bathroom. Built in 2009, Siena offers suite-controlled heat and air conditioning, as well as Internet and cable access.

Aquinas Apartments opened in August 2011. This housing includes four single bedrooms per apartment along with two bathrooms, a living area, and kitchenette.  Students may bring their own microwave, pans and small refrigerator, if desired. Apartments have cable and Internet access.

A Secure and Supported EnvironmentResidence Hall Room in Siena Hall

In addition to the security inherent in our rural Kentucky campus location, strategically placed security cameras and a 24/7-security patrol by our trained and certified security officers support the safety and well being of every student at St. Catharine. In addition, the college employs professional and student residence life staff, including someone with responsibility on each floor to whom students can go with questions or concerns. Each residence life staff member is carefully selected and fully trained to assist students. The college also operates an emergency Internet and text alert system to inform students of special security and inclement weather situations.

Like every community, St. Catharine College has written guidelines and rules to make living together more pleasant for everyone. The Student Handbook fully outlines the rules and regulations governing residence life.
