Patriot Pros

Since 2000, four St. Catharine College Patriot players have been selected by professional organizations in the Major League Baseball amateur draft. The latest drafted Patriot was infielder Dustin Shafer, a 41st round pick out of Russell High School. The three previous Patriots were Noochie Varner (10th round), pitcher Heath Castle (32nd round) and pitcher Alan Tungate (31st round).

There have been a number of Patriot Alumni who have been drafted by professional baseball organizations as well. And, the Patriot’s reputation of developing talent has landed St. Catharine College a number of draft and follows by professional baseball clubs.
