About St. Catharine College

Our Mission:  St. Catharine College is an independent Catholic College that provides quality undergraduate education and offers degrees in a variety of academic areas and professional programs.  Consistent with the Dominican tradition upon which it was founded, St. Catharine College fosters education grounded in the liberal arts values and is committed to the free pursuit of truth.  The College embraces Christian principles while respecting individuals of all religious traditions.  St. Catharine College encourages students to pursue lifelong learning and to develop a sense of responsibility for themselves, their community, and a just society. (Re-affirmed 2006)

St. Catharine College provides an environment where academic challenge, individual guidance, and personal support come together — so you can build success. At St. Catharine College, you join a community of teachers and learners to build the knowledge, skills, and insights to chart your course to success, no matter what that means to you.

Charting your course to success at St. Catharine College allows you to:

• Prepare for the pursuit of lifelong learning
• Train for a career in health science, education, criminal justice, or business
• Play your sport as a member of the NAIA Mid-South conference.
• Have fun, make new friends, and enjoy college life
• Explore the opportunities only a private, student-centered college can offer

One of St. Catharine's noted educators described success as utilizing your gifts and building on a strong foundation to become a good person. Why? Because when you are a good person, you become successful no matter what you do in life. St. Catharine can help you tap the success that lies within you.

Career Focused It's a great time to be at St. Catharine College. Generous alumni and donors have contributed more than $10 million to the College in recent years. These gifts are being invested in new programs, facilities, and equipment, and the people who are making them work for students.

The centerpiece of St. Catharine's new academic facilities is the Richard S. Hamilton Health and Science Building, which opened in 2005. It features state-of-the-art medical laboratories, new chemistry, biology, and physics labs, 12 classrooms, an auditorium, computer labs, and special spaces for conferences and seminars.

Investments like this underscore St. Catharine's commitment to practical education — career-focused programs grounded in the liberal arts. Our students graduate with the knowledge, skills, and attitude to succeed in careers that are demanding and in demand. The placement rate of over 98% for our health science graduates speaks for itself. Values Based St. Catharine provides a 21st century college experience that is rooted in two centuries of Dominican values. The high ideals and principles of the Sisters who founded this institution live on in everything we do.

Our Dominican tradition views the integration of faith and reason as essential to fulfillment in the search for truth. Persons of all faith traditions are welcome to teach, work, and study here.

There is a Christian feeling of courtesy and mutual respect, and regular opportunities to express thanks for all with which we have been blessed.

St. Catharine students enjoy the benefit of close, active, and enthusiastic support within a community where everyone helps one another — in the classroom, on the playing field, in the workplace, and in life. Best of all, it feels like a family.
