Department of Fine Arts
Encouraging Imagination and Creativity
Built on a 150 year old tradition of fine arts, the St. Catharine College Fine Arts program was developed with a curriculum designed to provide an excellent arts education and effective career preparation for art students.
The Fine Arts program emphasizes learning through individual attention in a positively oriented environment. The goal of the program is to nurture and cultivate the unique qualities of each student through an interesting curriculum, in an inspiring environment, under the leadership of involved professors. Class size is small, allowing each student the opportunity to receive individual attention. Faculty members have distinguished backgrounds in their fields.
The four year program in Fine Arts allows students to attend collaborative classes exposing them to music and theatre productions, gain experience from learning to curate exhibits and examine contemporary art in the area all while being grounded in a rural area known for its spiritual history.
Located within an hour’s drive to Louisville and Lexington, students will be encouraged to explore the exhibits, performances, and monthly gallery walks of these areas to view the work of emerging artists.
