Academic support provided by SC students who have been there!
The Department of Foundational Studies officially launched the College’s new peer tutoring program in the Fall of 2009. Talented upperclass students are at the helm of the program’s outreach. The tutors have been carefully selected to provide tutoring in Anatomy and Physiology I and II, chemistry, mathematics (developmental math, college math, and college algebra), English I and II, world religions, and psychology (intro and developmental). Tutoring services in additional content areas continue to be added as needs arise.
Peer tutoring is a free service that is available to all SCC students. This program allows students get connected with their peers and be served through flexible scheduling and academic excellence, all components contributing to student success! If you feel you could benefit from one-on-one peer tutoring or peer-led group tutoring, contact Mrs. Laura Satterly, Chair of Foundational Studies Department, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 859.336.5082 x1343.
