Academic Support Services
Services to support your academic success!
Making the transition to college can be a challenge for many students. At St. Catharine College, we want students to be successful in their academics and to balance their multiple commitments effectively. That is why we have developed programs to help students adjust to the demands of heavier course loads and more difficult classes. A number of free services are offered to assist students in achieving their goals; many SC students wisely take advantage of these resources.
Getting started on the right foot and becoming familiar with these services before you need them is a great strategy. But, if you find yourself in need after the semester is underway, the staff will be there to work along side of you and help you get back on track.
Two types of services are available:
- Center for Student Support Services (CSSS)—the CSSS aims to improve the quality of the student academic experience. Center staff can provide general academic support in terms of skill development and strategies in the areas of time management, study skills, test taking, building focus and concentration, and more.
- Tutoring Services —tutoring in math, writing, and specific subject areas is available through the Academic Resource Center and the College’s Peer Tutoring Program.
